A Different Approach to Qigong Practice

Most people who come to Forest Rock have already explored different wellness practices before, such as:

Yoga, meditation, breathwork, retreats, courses.

Each one may have offered something valuable. But many people still struggle with consistency.

What’s often missing is not motivation. It’s having a practice that becomes part of daily life.

At Forest Rock, Qigong is taught as a practical cultivation practice that people can gradually build into everyday life through repetition, rhythm and direct experience.

What is Qigong?

Qigong is a traditional practice that combines movement, breathing, posture, awareness and stillness.

Over centuries, Qigong developed as a way of cultivating health, vitality, internal awareness and balance between body, mind and spirit.

Today many people are turning toward these practices again because modern life places the nervous system under constant pressure and stimulation.

Some Qigong practices are gentle and restorative. Others are physical and meditative.

At Forest Rock Qigong, the focus is not simply on learning movements, but on helping people develop direct experience through consistent embodied practice.

Over time, many people notice:

A Grounded Approach to Practice

Traditional Qigong practices are being applied to very modern problems:

  • Mental overload
  • Nervous system exhaustion
  • Emotional pressure
  • Disconnection from the body
  • Difficulty slowing down
  • and the challenge of maintaining balance in everyday life.

At Forest Rock Qigong, practice is not approached as performance or self-improvement.

The emphasis is on learning how to work with yourself rather than constantly fighting against yourself.

The teaching approach is grounded, practical and accessible for beginners while still offering depth for people who wish to continue further into the practice.

Practice Together In Person

There is something very different about stepping away from the pace of daily life and practicing together in person.

Forest Rock Qigong retreats and teacher trainings offer space to slow down, reconnect and immerse yourself more deeply in daily practice and Traditional Chinese Medicine understanding.

Held primarily in Bali, the retreats combine:

In Their Own Words

'Qigong is a wonderful practice to slow down, to take a step back and simply observe. This course gives a holistic view to life. Peter is really extraordinary.'
